TL;DR summary: The NYT article highlights the division of current PSU students vs the alumni on the school's plan to commemorate Paterno today. The student editor of the student paper wrote a piece stating this new generation of students are ready to move on without Paterno. And, the blind, tone deaf alums who have easily forgotten the unfortunate events that occurred during Paterno's leadership have responded with vitriolic personal attacks.

A sad state of affairs in State College, but the alums should be glad they aren't playing Rice. Last night at the Baylor vs Rice game, the latter's marching band during half-time mocked the Baylor scandal with Title IX and Ken Starr references with Art Briles in attendance.
