I was reading an updated article about how the State of Louisiana is going to be a billion dollars in debt this year, and 2 billion next year due to the fall of oil prices.

This scenario has the possible ramification that the State University will not have enough funding and might have to close! All student athletes would be given an incomplete grade in their classes, and would become ineligible.

So ... if you are a HS recruit looking at LSU, are you sure that they will even have a football team? How much will this benefit other southern powerhouse recruiting schools like Alabama, Florida, Tex A&M, Georgia, etc.?!

Will this mean that the Buckeyes may finally pull a high profile recruit out of Louisiana?

What do you do if you are a football player currently enrolled at LSU?! How will the NCAA deal with this sudden loss of a team?

Will the loss of LSU affect the SEC's conference game and playoff standing?

TL;DR - Education funding sucks. Low oil prices are hurting Louisiana. LSU might close.
