Here is a good article looking back on the first year of Maryland's joining the B1G.  As expected it has done wonders for their finances.  They also had some of the greatest athletic success of any B1G team this year, earning more conference championships than any other school.  I would imagine a similar article about Rutgers would be far less glowing, but so far the UMD expansion has been extremely successful for both parties.
