UM's Exposure U and Sat Camps Backfiring

I'm sure everyone remembers UM's silly "Exposure U" camp where every college coach in America was invited to flock to Michigan and thus, bring the country's most talented recruits onto the wolverine campus. While there were reports of over fifty coaches having confirmed attendance, Michigan associate athletic director David Ablauf said in an email to The Detroit News the commitments were "fluid" and a list of attendees would not be provided. There has yet to be any commitments to their camp from any coaches with real influence. Sounds like they've got fifty nobodies that they won't even disclose in fear of tarnishing the event.

Meanwhile, UM's satellite camps are becoming something of a minor, lackluster equivalent to "Exposure U," except for the fact that they're not at Michigan. The attention Harblah had gained with his SEC battles is backfiring as other schools are showing up and stealing UM's satellite camp spotlight while on another university's turf. Michigan will be joined in their satellite camp at Youngstown by Bo Pelini, Kentucky coach Mark Stoops and Ohio State offensive coordinator Tim Beck (likely donning some CFP championship gear).

It's humorous seeing all of this blow up in their face.

UM: "Pretty please guys, come to our campus to make us appear relevant and get some croots up here."

Every influential college coach in the country: "Uh, no thanks. Your ulterior motives are transparent and pathetic."

UM: "Ok, well we'll just get a bunch of attention and gain recruiting advantages by creating satellite camps across the country."

Every influential college coach in the country: "Oh that sounds worthwhile. Let me steal your thunder by attending and overshadowing you."

UM: "Dang."
