Someone asked, if you could overhaul your conference, which teams would you drop/add? Which got me to thinking which teams I would like to see in and out of the B1G.
Drop Illinois, add Mizzou
Drop Indiana, add Notre Dame
Drop Purdue, add Texas
Add Oklahoma and add Virginia.
B1G West: Texas, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, Mizzou, Northwestern
B1G East: Ohio State, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Michigan, Penn State, Rutgers, Maryland, Virginia
Money is obvious, but Texas, Oklahoma and Mizzou also brings competitive football teams to the B1G West, something they lack right now.
Again with the B1G East, money is obvious with Notre Dame and the Virginia market, but Virginia brings a top basketball program, and a football program that looks to be on the rise, along with a battle against Penn State, Maryland and Rutgers for the DMV/NY/NJ area. Notre Dame brings a lot of interest to the B1G, being paired up with Ohio State, Michigan State and Michigan. it also brings back the MSU and Michigan games against ND, and keeps them from ducking Ohio State any longer.
