What Do Think? Cincinnati To the SEC?

With former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville at the helm of Bearcat football and the city’s proximity to Kentucky - demarcated by the width of the Ohio River, on which the city’s “Tall Stacks” event is annually celebrated - I wonder if this Northern city might have enough of a Southern feel, to attract further SEC-expansion. Others have wondered about this, too:

With an NFL and MLB franchise and big business titans the likes of P&G, there's certainly money in the Queen City. Where there's money, there's potential investors. College football will be recruiting investors with as more zeal than it does players, in the near term.

Then there's Ohio State, Notre Dame, a seemingly resurgent Michigan and MSU, all of which are vying for the talent Ohio grows so copiously. The Buckeyes' pacification of the Crimson Tide and Sparty's late-game sucker punch knockout of Auburn, attest to the value of our state's football talent. I'm sure some in the SEC would like to bust this market.

And the Big 12 could face even more peril: West Virginia played the hell out of Alabama, in September. An SEC-North composed of the Mountaineers, Wildcats, Bearcats and Volunteers would make for some interesting basketball games, too.

Then, there's this:

Most people from outside of the state do not realize how big Ohio is. Northern Ohio is vastly different than southern Ohio. When it comes to college sports (and for that matter professional sports as well), Ohio is extremely divided. While central and northern Ohio is extremely excited the Ohio State Buckeyes are playing in the first ever College Football Playoff National Championship Game, most of southern Ohio is either annoyed or indifferent (source: http://cincinnati.suntimes.com/cin-sports/7/102/77035/cincinnati-ohio-state/).

Would the SEC want to stir up this steaming kettle?
