Back in the 1960s and early 1970s the only place in Zanesville, Ohio to get sporting gear was a place called Clossman's Hardware.  Mark Dantonio, being a local sports star at the time, was pictured checking out some Adidas at Clossman's.  At the time the big seller was Converse Chuck Taylor shoes, which had just recently come out in basic colors other than black and white, and Adidas were new and exotic.  Here is a picture that ran in the Zanesville Times Recorder showing the current Michigan State Head Football coach practicing his recruiting smile.
