Can somebody with any experience with fans of a school or schools from the SEC give me a genuine answer as to why a team that finished next to last in their division such as Texas A&M has fans chanting SEC! at the end of their bowl game win against a now 6 loss West Virginia team? A WVU team that also happened to play without their best offensive player and hung a solid 37 on A&M's defense? There are a million sarcastic/funny answers, but does anybody know the real reason any fan of any team in the SEC soaks in the glory of the league as if their own team has basked in the same successes? It drives me crazy simply because it makes absolutely no sense at all and I get a little embarrassed for these fan bases.
