Could someone please explain to me why coaches leave during bowl preparation to take Head Coach jobs elsewhere. I guess what I don't understand is why would Herman leave after the Alabama game and not after the next game.  What could he possibly accomplish in the extra 11 days that couldn't be done later? I understand he could use that time to talk to recruits and possibly field a staff, but it still seems like a crazy situation that all of a sudden your staff is short handed at such a critical time.  Personally, I think the universities should have in their coaches contracts that they can't get fired or quit once their team is picked for the post-season.  There is so much money riding on these bowl games it seems like the good teams would want their teams to stay together until afterwards. And i would give the bad teams a little more time to evaluate coaches.
