Just found this interesting, Mississippi State is supposedly the best team right now according to the playoff committee. In the sportsbooks Alabama opened as a 6.5 point favorite and the line has since jumped to -8 according to Bovada. Indicating that people believe Bama will win this game by at least a td and there is not much action on Miss. St. Bama does have home field, but this usually accounts for about 3 points.
Another less egregious example is Nebraska @ Wisconsin. Wisky opened at -4, which means they are likely a favorite on a neutral field and the line has moved to -6. Wisconsin is ranked behind Nebraska because of resume.
This is just another example of how the playoff committee is being hypocritical, trying to select the "best teams" but only using resume to justify it. This seems like the same formula that the ap poll uses. I thought the whole point was to add the human element or maybe that only applies to fsu? I don't really care how they select the teams, but they need to be consistent when deciding if rankings are earned or if they are determined by which team they believe is better.
By the way, early money is on Minny, but line is still -13.
