Lets say: Alabama beats Miss State, Auburn Beats Bama, Ole Miss beats Miss State, Auburn goes to the SEC title game against Missouri and loses, making Mizzou the SEC Champion. In addition to that, you have the B1G Champion with 1 loss, the Big 12 Champ with 1 loss, Oregon out of the Pac 12, FSU unbeaten, ND with 1 loss. 

There's been much talk about 2 SEC teams potentially getting into the playoff, with some even proposing 3. In this scenario, which isn't entirely out of the realm of possibilities, do you think the SEC actually ends up with NO teams in the playoff? I don't see how you could possibly justify putting an SEC team in the playoff who A) has 2 losses while the others have 1 or less and B) didn't win the SEC or even the division (removing Miss State, Bama, and Ole Miss in this case), without demonstrating a clear bias towards the conference and an overemphasis placed on the bullshit that is the current ranking systems of the AP and Coaches. I think you'd have to rank the most deserving as:

1. FSU- unbeaten, and the reigning champion

2. ND- lone loss being against FSU, a game they should have won

3. Oregon

4. Big 12 Champ/B1G Champ- depends on which SOS you view as stronger

6. SEC Champion- 2 loss Missouri, one loss being to lowly Indiana, but still won the conference

7. SEC West Champion

8+. The rest
