Mike Slive will retire as commissioner of the @SEC on July 31, 2015, after serving in that position for 13 years, SEC announced today.

Been expecting this as he often said he would stick around long enough to launch the SEC network. The guy who brought the conference championship game, pushed expansions across college football, and was a major factor in the playoffs and autonomy is calling it a day at the end of this academic year. You may not have liked him (this being in B10 country and all) but the guy made a major impact on college football.
