He's become the Buckeyes engine on offense and D. They will be better on offense and on D next year. Scott and Thompson are starting to shoot the ball with confidence.

Always an AC fan, but Scott is instant energy off the bench. Eager to see him in a full time role in the future.

Scott just keeps getting better & better, the more he plays.
He has improved more each game this year, it seems.
So much upside.

I'm really looking forward to Scott continuing to improve. Maybe people will stop asking why we missed on Burke!
If Scott develops a solid jumper and gets a scoring mentality he could be very well be a rajon rondo type guard in the NBA. One of the quickest players I've ever seen. Very smart too.
Aaron Craft seems so much better with Scott on the floor at the same time. They seem to score much more efficiently off of each other, and the defense just goes to an absolutely insane level. Scott can steal as well as Craft and block better.
Scott is the only other player on the floor who can really create a good shot for another teammate other then Craft. It must feel nice for Crafty to get some of the love he is usually spreading around. I love the way he seems to just know where the dribbler is heading and beats him there. Most of his steals are not just him tapping the ball away or jumping a passing lane, he seems to just be in position to take the ball away with both hands. He plays the spin as an off-ball defender like a pro.
Roll with it.
I love Scott as long as he doesn't start playing hero ball. When he starts chucking in the second half, he loses games. He did it during the Duke game and the first MSU game when the buckeyes were up early. He hasn't done it in a while and guess what, buckeyes are streaking.
The team goes as Thomas goes but Scott could be the linchpin to a championship caliber team.
Scott didn't cost us those games... he was just still so inexperienced. He's so much better now and those important minutes he got in those games you mentioned is the reason he's developed so well over the season.
D. Anthony
He definitely cost the Duke game. When OSU was up early in the second half, Duke started their run. During that run, at a key point, Scott on back to back possessions came down the court and chucked up a long 3 that both barely hit the rim. He tried to end the Duke run by himself and he made it worst. If he would have just used some of the clock and worked the ball to Thomas some, it would have been more effective than throwing up shots because you think you can win the game by yourself. Yes he was young and inexperienced, doesn't mean he didn't do it. He still made those mistakes early in the season and it helped cost some big games.
but I will say now, he is playing much different. He doesn't shoot those long shots like he used to settle for. He drives to the hoop more, he is moving the ball more and becoming a heck of a player.
I just hope he doesn't convert back to the hero ball when the buckeyes feel the pressure again. I really do believe he has learned from that and I truly believe he is key to a deep NCAA run. This team has played phenomenal ball when the small ball lineup is on the court; Scott, Craft, Smith, Thompson and Thomas. 2 distributors and 3 dynamic scorers is a nice lineup.
You do know Craft took a bunch of 2nd half shots at Duke, right? And missed most of them?
I kind of feel like Matta told Scott that he wouldn't get benched for making mistakes as long as he caused the other team to make more. I only say that because at some point stopped being tentative and just started causing chaos.
Scott and Thompson both hit their 1st shots...that's huge for these guys. They are the most improved and have developed more confidence in their outside shots.
I'm surprised Craft hasn't become better from the outside...going into the season they said he was shooting so well from 3 but after the 1st game or so he lost his confidence and that hitch in his shot has become more pronounced. I'm pulling for him to work that out over his last off-season. It's his only shot at the NBA. Mateen Cleaves played great D and was better on offense than Craft but never got developed a good outside game and couldn't make it in the pro's.
D. Anthony
I can see Craft being a backup guard in the NBA, at the most. He will be a great defensive PG off the bench and he can control the offense pretty well. But even if he excels as a shooter, he just isn't athletic enough to hang with guys like Chris Paul and Kyrie Irving. Brandon Knight gave Craft some trouble and he is barely decent in the NBA.
I like him more as perhaps a future coach. I can see him on Matta's staff for a decade or so and then taking over as the head coach. I think I would be really behind that. He is a motivator and a smart guy. I just don't see his future as the NBA.
I still think the kid would make a hell of a Cornerback, with the quickness and ridiculously flexible hips.

He was only all state in football as a junior in high school, albeit division 5.
Yep...and I know he was a QB, but I think he could start at CB or S for most D1 schools, (had he chosen to take that path). I also think he has the raw skills to make it as an NFL DB.

I rather have scott than burke. This team is looking very good. I think osu has a great chance to go the distance. Next year with or without tank, it should be a final 4 year too. Ross, 3 consecutive 3 pointers. Thompson, looking better as the season goes on.
Unfortunately our post situation won't be much better.
I hope Thad is looking at a possible JUCO transfer for the post... tired of seeing Amir (a McDonald's high school all-American) get beat on both ends by centers from the worst teams we play.
D. Anthony
Yup. This entire team is progressing with the exception of Amir. No intensity and those feet...it's like he's wearing Cement Jordans. Step up for your teammates kid.
