Tony Gerdman drew a pretty good comparison between the game last night and our season. For the first 30 minutes this team played like the team that went 18-7 and got pummeled in Madtown; the last 10 minutes they played like the team that had gone 11-0 since then. Too bad it was too little too late, but at least they showed some resiliency.
On another note, as disappointing as last night was, I was really impressed with Wichita. They played a very effective game plan and built a lead large enough to withstand an OSU comeback (I have to imagine they knew it was coming at some point). I love Craft, but him taking those perimeter shots played right into WSU's hands. Also, I can't really blame Deshaun for taking bad shots last night: yeah he has had issues with that before, but the Buckeyes had absolutely nothing going for them, especially in the first half. From my perspective he probably felt he needed to carry this team, leading to some forced shots. For the first 30 minutes this team devolved to the team that still lacked a second scorer.
Definitely sad but again, I'm proud at how this team fought back post-Wisconsin. And I will definitely be rooting for Wichita next weekend against UL/Duke.
