PHONE'S RINGING -- IT'S URBAN ON THE LINE
It's truly a toss up but imagine our team if he stays.
I truly hope so.
If there's a silver lining to tonight's loss.....maybe DT wants to finish school and make one more go at it.
His draft stock did not improve this evening.

I would love him to stay...
But if I'm in his shoes, with a kid and whatnot, I think it would be extremely tough to turn down an NBA paycheck.
No way josé!
Towards the end of the game, that was my thought too. It certainly seems like the way the game went could pry at deshaun to give it one more year. Also, if we won and Q plays 1 or 2 more games, he might have been gone as well.
I'm pretty much expecting Deshaun to go, but I really hope Q comes back.
I don't think he will, but here's the thing, if he goes he's considered a late first rounder by some but more of a second rounder by most. If he stays, I'm not so sure his stock goes up any higher. The guy is who he is. Tough decision for sure.
Unless he's a sure fire 1st rounder, he shouldn't. But with Ross and Thompson improving, it could lead to him getting less touches, so it wouldn't surprise me if he did.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
He's gone...what is he going to improve on at this level? Shot selection isn't something you stay in college to work on and that's the only thing he can really improve on, besides D, which isn't ever going to be his strong suit.
He has a kid and wants to go. He's going and it's likely best for the growth of guys like Sam, Q, and Smith Jr. who will get a lot more shots next year without Deshaun.
good point on the shots to the other guys...
I might be wrong, but to me, a guy who says after the season is over "I need to think things over" is really saying he's gone (since you can't really say that 30 minutes after a loss). The ones who say they're definitely coming back, on the other hand--it's only possible that they're gone.
If he stays because he just likes it here, has academic goals, etc, then that's fine; but I think those who might argue that he should stay to help his draft stock are probably kidding themselves, because I don't think he can really do that short of evolving into a truly special shooter. As a player and as a prospect, I think he is what he is.
The team would benefit by having him back next year, but he can probably be more or less replaced by Ross. The bigger doubts about next year's team relate to thinness up front and the lack of a reliable perimeter shooting guard.

He's gone :( but boy oh boy, imagine this team next year if he stays...
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
He will leave, but if he stays, osu will be a very serious national title contender.
he has a chance to be a late first round pick. aka getting on a good team where he can shoot all he wants. The man will get paid, thank you for some solid years Deshaun
***shoot all he wants off the bench on a good team
Yeah, it's the early picks who go to bad teams and can get a lot of shots off early in there careers...if Deshaun goes to one of the better teams he isn't getting in a whole lot early and definitely not taking many shots on a top 10 NBA team as a rookie.
I think his child will play into his decision. Knowing that there's an NBA paycheck waiting, has to weigh heavily on your thought process. The majority of us make strictly family based decisions, especially the big ones; employment, housing, etc. I would think that it's easier for an NBA rookie to provide for his family, than a college senior.

unless you play for Kentucky, But seriously, if he's not a first rounder there is no guaranteed money (I think) so unless he wants to go to Europe for some dough coming back may not hurt him.
All depends on what the scouts saw. I recall seeing something on the net a month or so ago where his name did not pop up in a mock NBA draft. Personally I hope he gets the big bucks, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him back.
He should stay another year to help his game some more. And help us get back to the tourney!
Wherever you are, there you be!
I may get some downvotes but I want him to go.
I said the same thing last season. I feel like we can be a better team without him. It's a little hard to explain but when you have a guy like him that is always looking to shoot, regardless of the situation, it holds back the team as a whole. I know we didn't have many other scoring threats this year but I think his style of play had a lot to do with that. I do feel like he improved as a team player this year to some extent but I'm just ready for someone else to step up and for Thomas to move on to the NBA or Europe. I wish him the best of luck and think he could be a superstar in one of the European leagues.
Honestly I agree with this, mostly. His questionable shots and decision making cost us some serious possessions at times this year. I get that he's a shooter and will keep shooting, but at some point you have to realize that low percentage, heavily defensed shots are not the keys to victory.
I think he stays.
No and we will be fine with him even though he was really good this year it is time for Ross and Thompson to set it up to another and the incoming freshman should contribute as well.
I love DT but anyone that thinks hes nba ready, including DT himself, needs their head examined. He cant play average d in college, name me a single 3 or 4 in the nba he has a prayer to guard.
I think a fluke injury like what we saw with Kevin Ware is enough to convince him that his family is his first priority.
He said he comes back unless he is assured he gets taken in the first round.
