Just wanted to see who else may be going to the B1G 2013 Men's Basketball Tournament. I'm headed with my brother and Dad for all four days and just wondered what other 11W'ers may be there.
We should be going to every game starting with the Illini playing first thing Thursday morning. It's kinda cool to be in the Chicago area and be able to attend.
Shout out if you are going. I'll be there and wearing Buckeye gear ; )
Also, wondering about food in the area or at the United Center. We'll be having breakfast at home but maybe looking for lunch and dinner in the area. Any suggestions welcomed.
I would have definitely gone if it was in Indianapolis. OSU Spring break, but Chicago is just a little far to drive for me. Have fun it should be a great weekend!
I will be there, do you live in Chicago or are you traveling in? I live in Chicago area so it worked perfectly having break now. As for recommendations lemme know where you are staying and I can direct you to the best places. I have an interview in the A.M so i need to go to bed but ill come back on tomorrow after.
I live up around Highland Park and don't go into the city proper all that much. And I've never been to the United Center so I don't know the area. So I'll be driving down each morning and back home each night. But that stills leaves many meals around the United Center area so I wanted to know what people may think.
I've never been to the tournament, or any tournament, so it's a first. My father called a about 6 weeks ago to ask if I would be interested in going. If I didn't live in the Chicago area I don't think he would have thought about it. So he (in Columbus) and by brother (living in Champaign) will both come up to stay with my family. I think it's gonna be great to get away for a few days even though we'll be home at night.
I live in Gurnee and will basically be doing the same thing as you every night. As for food around the United Center. Im assuming youll be taking 94 down to the United Center. Dont go west of the United Center as that is not a very nice area. Between 94 and the United Center is a decent area that Chicago is revitalizing, there are bars and little restaurants but nothing that stands out. Your best bet is to go east of 94 and look around there as there are many great places to go and visit. What type of restaurant are you looking for?
I'm in Highwood but usually nobody knows where that is. But you might if you are from (not too) further north.
Not really looking for anything in particular for food...just something good and (usually) not too expensive. Checked online for restaurant in the area and saw some stuff not too far but I guess I'll try to stay east of the UC. Would just like somewhere we could walk that wasn't too far.
I read that the UC has decent food...you have any opinion? Anyplace inside that you think is best?
Also, do you usually park in one of the lots? I like the idea of public transit but with three people, coming from the north, it's too much pain-in-the-rear, takes too long, and not cheap enough to not drive.
Ill be in town for the weekend. Anyone know how easy it is to scalp tickets to single games? I know its sold out and most tickets are whole weekend packages but I will only be able to go to our Friday night game. Would be cool to be able to check it out while in downtown.
Sorry, I don't know anything about that. This is my first time to the tournament and the United Center so I'm not sure what demand is like. Sorry I can't be of more help.
