Congratulations to Penn St basketball beating #4 TTUN for their first Big Ten win of the season. Given their coach's history of overcoming challenges (he was stabbed twice in the neck in 2002) and Penn State's best player's (Tim Frazier) injury, this might be the most entertaining non-Buckeye victory over TTUN since Ohio knocked them out of the NCAA tournament last year. Also, the loss ties TTUN with Ohio St for 4th in the Big Ten.

I've had this sense of happiness all evening after hearing the news. Maybe it's because Penn State in Basketball is like Appy State in Football? On second thought, Appy State at least won some DII football championships, while Penn State really sucks in Basketball, so this is even worse for TSUN. Anyway, it's a great day to be a Buckeye!

Here is a funny fact. If the conference seeding were to end tonight. OSU be#4 and would have a tie breaker over Michigan which means Michigan would have to play Penn State in the first round. Dun-Dun-Dun. As long as OSU and Michigan finish with the same record in the next three games, Michigan will be playing Penn State in the BTT. Thanks for posting this schedule. Obviously there is a good possibility that the seeding will change in the final week and a half. Playing tsun in the 2nd round would be unfortunate, and a tsun, IU, MSU road to the championship would be nearly impossible. I just realized how Wisconsin has a much softer schedule than most of the other good teams in the B1G. They play IU and Michigan one time only this year. Must be nice.

Battles are sometimes won by generals; wars are nearly always won by sergeants and privates. Football is no different, the guys down in the trenches win the games, not the coach.
In all honesty, we need scUM to turn it around. They have MSU and IU still on their schedule. If they can pull off a win, or even two in those games then we could move up into the top 3 in the final standings, assuming we win out or at least 2 of 3. Also, having the 4th ranked team in the country lose to PSU, who was 0-14 in conference play so far, makes the conference look bad. This would be like LSU losing to Arkansas this year in the SEC. Or Florida losing to I don't know Kentucky. Heck, I'm not sure there's an SEC football team on the level of PSU basketball.
That said...hahahahaha. They're averaging a 10 point loss on the road in February?
Can we finally stop the Trey Burke should be national player of the year talk? Guy is good, but his team may get 5th in the conference with a week and a half left. At some point, that matters. He had 6 turnovers yesterday against an awful basketball team. After the game, Burke was quoted as saying he doesn't usually blame the refs, but that people were getting hit in the face and there were no calls. Right, Trey. You lost to a 0-14 team in league because of the refs.
You know what's funny about Burke saying the refs were a factor in the game, 14 other times in conferences games, no one complained. Burke, Deal With It. He had the highest assist to turnover ratio in the nation at 4:1 and he goes out there and has a 1:1 ratio with six assist and six turnovers. Bravo Burke! At some point he needs to accept the reality that refs aren't the excuse. If you don't wanna be in that position, don't put yourself in that position. Guard the three, box out and don't let them drive to the lane. If he wants to blame someone, look in the mirror then his teammate, mainly Stauskas! Michigan has all the talent in the world on offense but no defense. Michigan doesn't always follow its motto, WE ON, on offense but your defense should never be off. Trey Burke and Michigan need to man up before its all over! As for player of the year, just give it to Oladipo because He ON.
I'm usually rational but Michigan deserves the reticule they are getting. Maybe this is karma for him not staying at Penn State.

Good way to start the day!... Before walking out the door this morning I turned around to see what my 11 year old daughter was cheering about. She was eating a bowl of cereal watching ESPN... When I watch tsun I think of a couple of things.
1) Yes, Trey Burke and Hardaway are good players.
2) After those two, the team isn't that good.
3) Glenn Robinson is perhaps the most overrated player in the country. He's athletic, but he's bad defensively and disappears in big games.
4) Nik Stauskas can shoot. That's about it. Guy turns it over, and get's lost on defense. He is not the same player in the B1G that he was in November, mostly because he actually has to guard people now.
5) McGary is going to be tough. I hope he leaves for the nba soon, because he has already improved a ton this year for tsun. Athletic, strong, and good hands. He is also tough defensively, as he actually moves his feet on the ball screen.
