I know Mickey Mitchell will not even play his JR year of Highschool basketball due to an unfortunate injury he got while playing extremely well at QB for he and his brother's highschool team.
But Mitchell is a STUD on the court. This kid can dribble, pass, shoot, dunk like a mad man. He is so very versitile if you have not Youtbued him you really should if anyone knows how to insert his video on here do it just so others can see this kid play, and the videos are from when he was a Sophmore.
He plays on the same team as Randle the 4 or 5 star PF this year. It was Mitchell who carried their team as a sophmore in the playoffs I read due to Randle's foul troubles last year.
I am really excited for Mike Mitchell coming to OSU and would be STOKED if Mickey decided to join his brother.
Also they have like 5 or 6 more brothers I think? NOt sure how many are younger or even play sports but man...pipeline to the Micthell household sounds like a good idea considering how atheltically talented Mike and Mickey are.

2 or 3 more that are younger than Mike. And Mickey was tweeting about OSU as soon as Mike committed, so it looks good in that regard.
It will help big time, as well as with his younger brothers.....Thad is on it, don't worry. Mickey suffered an ACL tear this past football season that has sidelined him for his sophomore hoops season (he is a 2015 prospect, not 2014). I do not know if he will play football next year, but he should be back to hoops next season as a junior and if he comes back 100% could be the top overall player in the class.
I'm reminded of this question as an aswer to yours: "is the pope catholic?"

"Does a bear shit in the woods" also comes to mind.
Or one of my favorites - "Does the pope shit in the woods?"
...Does a one-legged duck swim in circles?
Time and change will surely show how firm they friendship... O-HI-O.
Family allegiance is huge in recruiting. Look at the Borens as one example, and consider our missing out in James Quick as another example. Where your folks and sibs played makes a difference.
I think this is especially true for the Mitchells, who have talked about going to the same school a lot. There are always exceptions, such as EzE and Jaylon Smith in this class.
I kind of knew the answer to my question too Jedkat, but I was just wanting to open a thread to discuss Mickey because I was not sure all OSU fans knew of this kid and how truly talented he is.
His first varsity football season, he was passing for 1,855 yards and 21 touchdowns, while rushing for 773 yards and 11 more scores. Before his injury. That is pretty good some may say.
Man his youtube video then was of his FRESHMAN YEAR that just makes it that much more impressive to me.
Would LOVE to see Matta nab this kid!!!!
You'll learn that I'm just hear for sporadic comedic relief. I do no real analysis.

Bosa is another good example...played in South Florida but had ties to OSU through his mother. Hope that Bosa's lil. bro takes a hard look at the bucks for the same reason.
Ive been stoked about Mickey since first hearing about Mike. His film is unbelievable. I also think its way easier to see what a basketball player can do in highlights than football. There dont seem to be any holes in his game, crazy athletic, decent handle, floaters, jumpers, postgame, and a strong medichlorian count in his passing gene.
Good post Chubby...we started seeing a lot of YOUTUBE videos on Mickey rt. after Mike called us his top school and then went HAM out at the Nike camp this summer.
Mickey would be nice with Mike now coming but imagine if Mickey and Randle talked and Randle came to OSU and Mickey reclassified to 2014. Could be a heck of a class then.
Would love to see these family trees and see where they go in the future. Too bad the Smith line will end after Rod (Jaylon).
Yeah I think Mickey could come in as a Wing and really light it up. He has the "IT" factor, to me. One of those guys that can score 25 pts but also make everyone around him better. Like an ET but with crazy dunk hops and not have to "force" it as much as ET had to. ET was awesome too not selling ET short but his FR and Sophmore year he forced his hand a little even his JR year at times...but man it was fun watching...
I was stoked about Mickey before I seen anything about Mike.
I was watching some highlights of Mickey again, just unbelievable. I want to wish him the best in his recovery. No matter where he goes to school, I'm looking forward to seeing this kid play for the next 15 years.
Uhh.. Are you sure that isn't Blake griffin? Kid can handle the rock!
Hell the few clips I've seen Mickey looks like a more athletic Ricky Rubio. I want him in scarlett and grey
That just happens to be a 6'7" soph in high school.
He was slated to be their bball team's Sophomore 6-8 225 point guard. You watch his football video and it is hard to beleive what looks like a bigger faster version of Tim Tebow is higher thought of as a basketball recruit.
A younger brother Kiwi is huge, the biggest player on his middle school team and plays tailback.
