Sorry. I tried off and on. And, it wasn't just because the NFL playoffs were also on.
Watching the Buckeyes half court offense is simply too painful. Two guys under the basket, occasionally switching places, while the other guys "weave" in the backcourt. Shot clock runs down, and somebody launches a shot. It goes in, or more often, clangs away and is rebounded by the other team.
When we run, on the other hand . . .
Love the defense.
I just don't feel like we have a plan for attacking the basket with our set offense. Without that, how far can we go?
John

This post doesn't seem appropriate when you consider we beat the number 2 and previously undefeated team in the country who happens to be our rival. Be happy and proud of our bucks today my friend
Im extremely glad that we were able to beat Missagain today, but I totally believe we need another scorer.Unless we are able to play defense the way we played today all the time I don't see us with much of a chance to get by the round of sweet 16
Battles are sometimes won by generals; wars are nearly always won by sergeants and privates. Football is no different, the guys down in the trenches win the games, not the coach.
Love it
I am happy. It was gut wrenching, though. And, I've felt this way several times this season. Don't get me wrong. I'm an OSU "honk."
Sorry you don't think my post was appropriate. Just trying to be somewhat objective. We did blow a huge lead, again, and nearly gave it away, right?
John
You really must not watch much because we virtually never have two guys in the post.
scum was averaging 81 points a game and was 16-0. Let's settle down.
lol Upvote for signing your name at the end!! hahaha
And will someone please drive. If Amir and Evan don't want to finish dishes or lobs around the basket, have Slam or Q be the guy who sneaks in for that dish.
I couldn't watch because I was too nervous we would blow the lead like we did against Duke (and like we did at the last game I was at, vs. Kansas in the Final Four). Perhaps it's my lack of confidence in the offense's ability to score points.
The Buckeyes definitely made a big step in the right direction today, it didnt lose the game and it shot better and played better defense against a really good team. After the Duke, Kansas and Illinois games those 3 areas were OSU's downfall. Yeah TTUN rallied from 21 down but OSU still won. That speaks volumes about how much they grew up today. Only a well-coached and improving team can lose a lead like that and still keep its focus down the stretch. Focus on the positives.

Well, still saw some of the tendencies that we saw against Duke, Kansas, and Illinois - struggling to score, missing shots, and some turnovers. This time, the Buckeyes were able to make the plays in the final minutes to get it done. It was a huge win and I'm excited about it, and it should be a big shot in the arm for these guys going forward. There were still some frustrating things, though, that need to be fixed. I think this team is capable.
Class of 2010.
This is a good post. I don't think this is overly negative at all, even if we just won a huge game. We still definitely have offensive problems.
But I don't think there's anything overly complicated here or anything Thad is lacking in the offensive game-planning.
Kids simply have to start knocking down jump shots at a higher rate. Simple as that. Then the weaves will start ending with a fair number of layups and mid-range bunnies.
Teams know we're seriously lacking any confidence right now in our jump shots, and are gonna make us prove we can start hitting with consistency before extending the defense and opening lanes.
Thad has always been a coach to rely on offensive players to make plays vs. run around for 30 seconds like robots in a set pattern and take the same shot you could've had 20 seconds ago.

Did you watch all of the OSU-Florida national championship game? That was pretty painful. How bout the football season in 2011? That was pretty painful. Did you watch those games? The game today was much less painful to watch than any of that stuff, plus OSU won the game. I thought the whole point of being a fan was living and dying with them? I guess I was wrong.
