Hi everyone, I was at the game today so I didn't get a look at any replays. Was the officiating as bad as it appeared today or was the crowd just really into it? (I'm not looking to blame the refs, obviously we suck at shooting - the whole point of basketball, putting the ball through the hoop. I just want to know if Sanzere needs to overtake Valentine, Hightower, and Kitts on my most-hated college refs list.)

Wasn't too bad, a few bad calls I thought, but blocked shots, lack of offensive rebounds, and lack of high percentage shots are what killed us tonight in my opinion..
agreed. you can add: failure to defend inbound plays; and shots just not falling.
Cant blame the refs for this one!
I think the refs were pretty bad in general. Both teams got hosed a few times, but I think it pretty much evened out over the course of the game.
Agree with all 3 posts above me and would add in the failure to prevent offensive rebounds along with defending the inbound as the reason for the loss.
Not sure why the ball does not go through D Thomas more.
The only guy who played like this was a big game was S Scott. I have criticized him in the past, so I apologize publicly. Props to S Thompson for hitting a couple of shots early, but , no offense, if he is our shooter, we have big problems.
KU is a strong team and a defensive beast.
They deserved the win
I feel like the ball was going through Thomas plenty; he still struggles with rushing shots, taking shots terribly off balance... He will definitely bounce back, he's a hell of a shooter when he's on... but when he's off-- he's OFF.. today we just had an off day. I do think the ball was going through him a solid amount though..
Remember that in the end you will be judged not by what you believed, planned or dreamed; but, by what you did.
Yeah I was wondering the same thing. Of course from where I was sitting in the arena I think the time zone was different, so who knows what I actually saw!
Was at the game. Lack of consistent calling, especially under/ close to the hoop.
Nothing like dancing on the field in 02...
The refs had a horrible failure right before the half when they never noticed that the clock ran off an extra 3 seconds.
From the opening tip, I knew it was going to be rough day for the Buckeyes. The refs called a "let them play" kind of game, which was not good for the guys in gray seeing how we were really outsized and out muscled (for much of the game). But, they were pretty consistant both ways. I love D Thomas, but he needs to learn how to play for a better open shot in a game where the refs basically let both teams bang away at each other.
My thoughts exactly. The fans in the arena were booing a lot, but watching on TV there were never any calls (or nocalls) that I really disagreed with. They let both teams play physically, and our frontcourt is soft.
Other than craft getting hip checked every other drive or not a single charge called on Kansas?
I was there- I think the refs were pretty bad all around. It seemed like there were probably a few more calls that went against the Buckeyes than the Jayhawks, but it was within the realm of normal. Mostly the refs just missed a lot of calls.
Thought I was watching an NBA game with the number of steps Kansas got away with.
