Villanova was in my top two (besides OSU of course, the right choice & where I am now) coming out of high school. So naturally I was intrigued to see that Jay Wright was on the hot seat, although no one on Twitter specifically mentioned a scandal.
From what I've been able to gather, Wright may be stepping down due to an affair (including a possible pregnancy) with a freshman soccer player. I'll look for some concrete source/proof, but if so, wow.
Saw the twitter rumors as well... I'm pretty skeptical at this point. Haven't really seen anyone credibile mention it, or any mention of it outside of twitter, although it wouldn't look good if you reported something like that and it turned out to be false.
Exactly, I would assume any credible news source would want to wait until they were 99.9% sure, otherwise they might get handed with a libel suit.
Edit: I went back far and couldn't pinpoint an origination for the rumors.
Yep. I feel like if there was even the slightest chance the rumors were true, someone sleazy like Sports by Brooks would have picked it up and ran with it by now.

If it's not true...dang, what a vicious rumor to start. Probably a fan who wants him fired. Just despicable to start a rumor like that. Wright probably has a family and everything. Something like that would hurt not just him but his wife and kids.
