I don't seem to recall the same enthusiasm in his voice when OSU routed Duke last year, as he had yesterday, when Duke beat Kentucky. Hopefully this Douche isn't calling this year's OSU/Duke game, I would hate to have to mute the broadcast and listen to the radio call. The delay between radio and HD TV broadcast (radio 4 to 5 seconds ahead of TV), kills the moment.

During a 1992 OSU/Iowa game, Vitale, during a time out, called Funderburke a 'cheap-shot mother f**ker" and had a few more unkind words to say about him. It was picked up on the satellite feeds and he had to apologize. If i remember correctly, ESPN didnt bring him back to OSU for a while.

Thanks @jlb. That is what I was referring to. Essentially he was upset that Funderburke had the audacity to transfer from Indiana and "the general, Robert Montgomery Knight." Nowadays, when I hear him moaning about how no one cares about the kids, I just laugh.

I have never talked with anyone who actually likes Vitale. His style is pompous, obnoxious, and at times offensive. Obviously someone likes him because he is still on the air, but I just don't get it.
i've heard from some old head funderburke was a dirty/enforcer type player. i dont recall him i wasnt following buckeye basketball before i was 10. i for one am a dickie v fan. could be because im also a duke fan second to the buckeyes when it comes to hoops.
