Andrew Wiggins (#1 player overall, SF) was just moved from the 2014 class to the 2013 class. Supposedly, he is a certain #1 NBA draft pick when he does come out. He was compared to Anthony Davis and LeBron James by a couple ESPNU guys.
To our recruiting gurus.... do we have a shot with this kid?

This kid is a stud. But, from everything I've read, he is Kentucky's to lose. I would love for him to come to OSU, though. Do I think it will happen? I have my doubts.
Anthony Davis and LeBron are not even close to being the same type of players. Wiggins is being compared to both of those guys?
The comparison was in terms of being the clear-cut #1 player in their class. Not necessarily in playing style or athletic build.
Kentucky's 2013 class is NASTY, if he is a commit for 2013 fo Kentucky, may as well give them the 2013/2014 title. They'll have a better class next year than the one that just won the championship.
Without this kid in the 2013 class they already have the number 4, 5, 17, and 128 ranked players in the class.
Kentucky's hold on recruiting right now is just so strong. Year in and year out they seem to get 2 of the top 5 players and then another 2 in the top 30
The thing is does UK have a spot available for him?
This may be a blessing in disguise to not getting top guys to commit early.
I imagine they do, they lost 6 scholarship players last year and they have 4 commits right now.
EDIT: DUH, 2013 class is next year! You know they'll lose at least Nerlens Noel after this year among others I'm sure.
So the 2012 class only had 4, they lost 6 off of last year, so they have 2, I'm sure they'll lose Noel and maybe another one of the Freshman, after that they have Hood Polson who are on schollie I believe. They are Jrs, but wouldn't be surprised if they transfer or, give up their schollie for the good of the team next year lol. That's kind of what happened when Cal came to UK, a few guys who weren't his caliber player left the program. If he wants to go to UK and they are short a scholarship, I'm sure it'll free up somehow.
The rumor is that Wiggins has some reservations about going to UK because he wants to be a team's clear #1 option.
UK not only has the Harrison twins (#4 and #5), but they're also in the hunt for Julius Randle (#2) as well. If Calipari manages to land Randle then Wiggins might be worried about the amount of touches he gets in Lexington, especially since the PG running the system is going to have a twin brother out on the wing to pass too.
