yea i was just about to make a post about this. Something to look forward to to try and make my day go by quicker.... Here's to good news!!! (Hopefully)
just last night in the NBA, these are OSU players' stats:
Evan Turner: 26 points, 8 rebounds
Michael Conley, Jr.: 18 points, 5 rebounds
Byron Mullens: 20 points, 14 rebounds
Michael Redd: 16 points
Thomas probably is still literally making up his mind (that, or he's decided to stay and thus won't feel the need to say anything at all). But I suspect Sullinger has known he'd be making an announcement this week for at least the last 12 months.
Good luck to him. I hate to use a hackneyed term like "end of an era," but I think we're going to miss life without an All-American in the lineup, something we haven't had to deal with here since Evan Turner was a freshman.
Good for Jared. Gets to realize his ultimate dream, and even though he may have cost himself some money coming back for a 2nd year, he led this group to a FF - something I don't think many have as much of an appreciation for as they should.
Bittersweet to see him go. Hurts the Buckeyes team, but awesome for the Buckeye program. Another NBA-er from Thad Matta.
Thomas will come very close to leading the nation in scoring if he returns but if he's getting advice from NBA scouts that he will be a first rd draft pick and he wants to leave I can completely understand that.
agree, "JasonBuck", if Thomas stays --- OSU has an All-American next year.
He's probably a 2nd round projection, which isn't guaranteed money, (it's almost like a free agent). If Thomas stays, he'll only improve his draft stock...and perhaps be a lottery pick in '13.
It's a win/win for sure, if Thomas stays.
*** On the bright side, with Sullinger going pro...perhaps this increases the chances of Tony Parker picking OSU, thinking of early playing time. The staff may have a better feel on that, though.
Agree "Bucks43201", especially with next years draft not being NEARLY as deep as this years. I don't know why you would leave this year without guaranteed money especially with how deep the draft is. Next year the team will be Crafts and Thomas's team....mix in Thompson, Williams, Smith, Scott, and the other's, and we should at least contend for the B1G title.
Im very happy for Jared, I used to watch im put in work at Northland when he was just in Middle School, Coach Satch always said he would be special, as did Julian, he would always say watch my little brother is gonna be the best out of all of us. He was right.. Jared was a true Buckeye he bled scarlet and grey and was never a guy to get into trouble and a great ambassidor for Buckeye Nation. Looks like I'll have a new team to cheer for next year.
As For next years team I think it makes sense for Thomas to come back, he has great momentum he will probably be on the Preseason All American watch list and if he grows as a player as much as he did last offseason we can expect a HUGE year out of him in 2012-13. I hope he makes the right choice and waits one more year to improve his defense more and become a better 3 point shooter, and creater off the dribble. I think JD and Sibert will transfer out leaving us with this rotation
Starting five
1. Craft (with Scott coming in and Craft moving to the 2 occasionally, and Lenzelle moving to the 3.)
2. Lenzelle Smith Jr.
3. Ross/Thompson (Scoonie says Ross is a manchild) (Thompson cant shoot at all)
4. Thomas (If JD stays he will be coming in for Thomas
5. Williams (with Ravenell coming in off the bench)
I think Thad might go get a juco PF in this class if JD transfers and especially if Thomas leaves aswell. It seems like more guys should rotate in because of the expeirence of this group but we shall see.
Jared was a beast for OSU, wish him all the luck in the NBA i think he will be a solid guy for a while. Hope Thomas Stays, I woudn't go unless he think he will be a lotery pick.

Maybe he'll say one more year....?
(Hope springs eternal)
Its been real Sully! Thank You for for an amazing 2 years
ESPN says he is a goner.
go bucks
Doubt he is staying...good news is DeShaun is not announcing today so maybe he is staying? (hopes for silver lining)
so far good news that Thomas' name wasn't mentioned
He's confirmed gone per Satch on NBC4 today.
OSU players are starting to take over the NBA.

The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.
