I would've suspended him for the entire playoffs at a minimum.

F4CK the Lakers, seriously. Bynum only got 4 games for his obscene foul on JJ Barea last year. Artest only gets 7 for the most heinous elbow I've ever seen.

I guess I'll be the Artest apologist here. It didn't look (to me) that he meant to elbow Harden(?) in the head. It looked like he was celebrating and, in Artest's mind, Harden was getting in the way of his celebration. So he threw one of those elbow post moves. I don't think he even realized he'd connected with Harden's noggin till he was at the other end of the court and the ref was explaining it to him. He probably didn't know why Ibaka was trying to fight him.

Certainly, he should be suspended, though. Certainly more than the 2 game standard for elbow to the head. Because it was not during a live ball situation. So I'd say double it or even a new standard of X games for elbow contact after the whistle. But I don't think you give him extra games just because you think it looked viscious.

Watch it again. He was celebrating a marginak play, Harden makes contact with him, and Artest clearly sees where he is, and is perfectly aware of what's going to happen. He then cocks his elbow all the way back, and shows more malicious intent in both his facial expressiona and his follow through than Ive ever seen in a situation like that. It looked ten times more purposeful than Kevin Love's face "stomp", and given Artest's past, he should never get the benefit of the doubt. Verdict: death by firing squad.

I think there should be a court order to take away his ridiculous name and go back to the Ron Artest that we expect this kind of nonsense from. Ban him for the rest of the season.

I think it was totally unintentional but he should absolutely own up to it. I don't think he saw where he was throwing the elbow but deliberately threw it because he was knocked by someone. The worst part is I don't see any apology directly or indirectly to Harden. He needs to stop being an ass and own up to it and accept the repercussions for his actions.

I think it should be equal to the Torres suspension in hockey, 25 games total! and get rid of that ridiculous name! It's like Fidel Castro changing his name to "Cuban Democracy", absolute contradiction!
