Someone might've previously answered this question this weekend and I just missed it, but Where in the world was Shannon Scott? He's usually THE FIRST GUY off the bench and I didn't think he even got in the game. The only subs I noticed was Williams, Thompson, and Ravenel. Was he injured?

I heard that someone was transferring. Do you think it could be Shannon?
My guess would be Ross. Outspoken early on and unhappy with his role... If indeed someone is thinking of transferring
JD makes more sense as a transfer because I think he'll be passed up for people like Ross.
Have a buddy who has some insider with some journalists, says osu will be losing 7 people next year
Willy B- Graduation
Sully-Draft
Thomas-Draft
Witherspoon- Transfer
Sibert- Transfer
Then coaches Boals and Dickerson
TIFWIW but thats what he has heard
From what I've seen, Thompson has been the first off the bench. My guess is that Williams was brought in for size and Scott didn't see the floor because Craft, Smith and Buford covered what was needed. As for Ross, I say he stays. Dude will start or be 6th man with WB, Sulley and DT gone. Top T should be Craft, Smith, Williams, Thompson and Scott or Ross.
I'd say definitely Sibert. Maybe Witherspoon, hopefully Craft can talk him out of it seeing as how PT might really open up with only 8 or 9 scholarship guys next year assuming no recruits. I don't see anyway LaQuinton Ross doesn't start for us next year even if Sully and Deshaun come back. No way he transfers just to sit out a year with that awaiting him. If Scott and Thompson could learn how to shoot we could still have a really good team next year.
I could see Sibert and Weatherspoon leaving, they'll get passed up next year by more rounded players. I think Thad will always have transfers, due to his stubborness to play his bench and the amount of talent he has here, but NO player (except Offutt) that has left Ohio State has had any type of success elsewhere.
What happend to Sibert did he get in trouble or something, he was playing pretty well in the start of the season. he was the first guy off the bench and I thought he could be a 3 point shooter for us. Didn't he score 15 in one game? I don't really care how matta plays his players if he wins, but for the tourny it seems like you have to have some type of bench if players aren't scoring, Kansas, and kentucky use at least 3 guys off the bench that are effective. OSU doesn't really have that but maybe ravenal a few games. I hope thomas stays, would be craft, thomas, williams, ross, smith jr. Thompson coming off the bench with scott, sibert if he stays and weatherspoon, idk how if everyone stays Matta doesn't play at least 8 guys next year. Also if Shannon scott learned to shoot better I could see scott and craft starting together if thomas leaves. Smith jr is only 6'4 but I think he can play good D against some SF would be a small line up though.
I really hope Matta gets Tony Parker, Line-up could look like this, Craft, smith jr,ross,Parker,Williams. Scott, thompson, ravenal and who else is left off the bench. That would be a very tall line up, 7'0, 6'9 6'8 and Matta can bring in thompson who is 6'7 as well. Idk will be very interesting to see what happens. I hope a lot of kids don't transfer most of them have at least 2 years left.
I think we all hope for Parker but looking at his finalists, all of them are storied programs where he can step right in and start. Tough to pick a winner at this point.
I think he may be a long shot at this point but idk, he said he doesn't want to loose weight that he didn't like how they made sullinger get slimer. Amir williams needs to step up a lot next year, so does ross, if those to can be good the team should be fine with out thomas and sullinger. Also I know he didn't get much playing time but I wonder how trey McDonald is, seems like a pretty athletic guy who can play the 4 if williams is in the game.
Regarding Boals and Dickerson. I know Boals was a candidate for the Ohio job, but that was filled and I heard Dickerson rumors about Miami. Any other openings for these two out there?

I've been wondering the same thing the whole second half of the season. I figured he hadn't be putting in the effort in practice, maybe he is in the doghouse or something. I have absolutely no idea I am just wondering out loud.
Totally agree with you Root
Tony Parker signs. Sully stays.
Parker, McDonald, Williams, Sully and Ravenel start.
Ravenel plays point guard. It's kind of a big line-up.

@ Root et all regardin Sibert...
I have to disagree. I don't recall Sibert playing 'pretty well' except for 2 games the entire season - one of which was a meaningless effort against Jackson State when he had 11 points. Other than that, he had 12 against Northwestern in what was really his only significant contribution of the season.
Thad gave him a shot as the first guard off the bench - with the definied role as being able to stretch the D by hitting outside jumpers - and he failed miserably.
In 24 games, he shot 30% from the field and 26% from 3 point land.
If you take away his 4/6 from distance effort against NW, he shot 20% from deep on the year.
If he wants to transfer, it's probably not the worst idea ever. I'm not hating on the kid but as someone who watched and rewatched most games this year, I can't agree Sibert played pretty well for this team. He was a major disappointment.
I would prefer both he and JD stay but neither are going to make or break how 2012-13 and beyond unfold. Ross is the one Matta needs to make sure stays. He's unproven but at least he didn't have a chance to prove himself and fail like Sibert. As for Spoon, I love his dunks but that seemed to be his range in most games. He made 29 FG's this year. I'm guessing more than half of those were dunks.
Holy smokes what is with all the replies....the O.P. was referring to Saturday's game and why Shannon Scott didn't play at all. No idea why, other than his time has been limited in the tourney. Would have made sense since both Johnson and Taylor for KU are point guard type players. I guess his inability to shoot may have been the reasoning?? But he wasn't always the 1st player off the bench. It was either him or Thompson with Ravs.
I would think Spoon would stay if D.T. leaves but transfers if he stays. They play the same position and Tank usually went 35-40 minutes a game.
Boals...LOL. Ok, but OU didn't even have any interest after hiring TCU's coach. So where's he going to go instead?
I can see Dickerson heading to Miami.
People wondering about Sibert clearly didn't see his 28% shooting percentage. Thompson gave more defensively and Scott was quicker and a better distributor. Sibert figures to be the most likely to transfer as Smith, Thompson, and Ross as well as Scott/Craft playing off the ball are ahead of him in the lineup. Don't see him playing much more than 3-4 minutes a game if he stays.
And re: McDonald...why in the world did we offer him? He's going to be stuck all 4 years playing maybe 10 games a year.
I do understand that maybe he didn't play as well as I stated. But at least he looked at the basket and took shoots. Thompson never looks at the basket ever. Either does Shannon Scott. Lets not forget the greatest 3 point shooter OSU ever had Jon Diebler shoot awful his first year at OSU he shot 28.9% from 3's his freshmen year. Now I am not comparing Sibert to Diebler but this was his first year getting any playing time, It seems like Matta has kids on short leashes if they don't shoot well off the start. I don't know how good Sibert really is don't watch practices or anything just by games. But it just didn't seem like he got that much of a chance in the early season. But now that Smith Jr. seems to be a good shooter now Sibert won't get much playing time to me if Smith continues to improve, becuase he plays very good defense. So I guess it really doesn't matter I just really wondered what happend to him cause he just stopped playing.
Smith solidified his position at SG and was every bit as good as Sibert on offense but ten times better on defense. All the skills Sibert had, might as well leave Smith in there. Sibert couldn't play any other position so he was stuck. As for Thompson, true he doesn't shoot but that is because his role was defense and distribution. Sibert will definitely be better off transferring because now Loving is coming in, Smith is staying, Thompson (if he can learn to shoot outside) I think will take over starting SG and Ross are all ahead of Sibert.
Sibert and Witherspoon probably should transfer. I like witherspoon much better but not sure he will get much of a chance for future PT. Depends if he is willing to expand his offense. He is solid on D and we all know he can jump.
What this team needs more than anything is a player who can create and score. Buford was supposed to be it but we all know what happened there. It would be really nice if Craft can develop more on offense and get the green light from Thad.
Listening to 97.1 the fan, they said Siberts twitter said to stop talking about him transfer, he said he is just trying to get better. So as of now Sibert isn't transfering I guess.
