How Sullinger will do in the NBA?

There is a lot of talk about Sullinger in the NBA how he is not going to do well. I disagree for many reasons here are a few.

1. The NBA is LESS physical then in college he will be able to play more one on one, when he loses more weight he will be even harder to guard.

2. He will play his natural position at PF considering most PF's in the NBA just want to jack up threes he will be a inside outside threat.

3. His shooting, his jump shot vastly improved this off season just look at the numbers he shot 25% from three his first season, his Sophomore season he shot 40% from three. Free throws first season 70% Sophomore season 77%. Although he shot just 52% this year as opposed to 54% from the field just a huge drop off.

4. He has been successful at every level and it will continue in the NBA.

I believe Sully's transition to the NBA will be similar to Kevin Love's. They said he wasn't athletic enough and would be bothered with longer defenders. Also look at Kevin Love's numbers from his Freshman season and Sully's this year pretty scary how similar they are. Sully might take a year to get used to the NBA but I think he will be a 20 point scorer in the NBA when its all said and done.

I know most of you will read this and say what is this guy smoking? The good stuff just kidding. Maybe I have on my homer rose colored glasses on but that's my opinion. And only time will tell.

I'm no nba expert, but I think he'll be a solid starter or even really good 6th man in the league. I don't think he is athletic enough at his size to be an all star or great player in a very athletic league. His outside shot is pretty good but not enough to be dangerous when he isn't posting up. I don't see anymore than a possible 12-15 ppg 5-8 rpg player at his peak. Doesn't mean he can't bust his ass and be a great player down the road..I wish him the best!

I don't think Sullinger will be a good NBA player unless he can further develop his post game and his ability to perform against length.

The NBA is NOT less physical than college. I don't know what gave you that impression. Sullinger struggles against length, especially while in the post in a halfcourt offense. He has a nice outside game but cannot be a 4 in the NBA without improvements to his post game. All, of course, in my humble opinion.

IMO NBA is a bit more physical than NCAA. I will be rooting for Sully in the NBA but I will tell you in about 3 years if he's made the NBA transition. Trying to gauge who will make it and who won't is an impossible science and thru the years I've noticed that some do well that I didn't expect to do well and some that I thought to do well flopped. I personally think DT will be a great player because of his scoring ability from about every spot on the court. Once DT figures out the defense thing he could be solid. ( reminds me of Jameson) Willie Buford is the wildcard but I see him maybe having a nice few years in European leagues and maybe make it to the NBA one day.

He needs to channel his inner Kevin Love and then he can be an all star.  His post moves are solid, but he can't just force it up against taller, longer players.  He did play very solid defense against Thomas Robinson in the few match ups they had.  That bodes well for his career if he can keep that up.

He's not Blake Griffin, so he shouldn't try to be.  But if he keeps on improving his mid-long range jumper there will be a place for him in the league.

Honestly I don't think Sully will be a star, I think he will be a steady role player, 6th man type with a long career and playing for multiple teams.  He reminds me of Corliss Williamson. Personally I think he needs another year in school to develop his long range game.

He will make fat loot.  He will not be an All-Star, but he will be on a roster for a decade.

Kevin Love is a top 10 player in the NBA.  To compare Sullinger to him is ridiculous.  Love is a far superior shooter than Sullinger and a much better passer, especially out of the post.  Sully is going to struggle to score down low in the NBA.  That being said, Sullinger should have a solid career.

My point was that he needs to try to emulate Kevin Love as much as possible since they are similar players in terms of size and athleticism.  If you check my post, I agree with you on most of your points.  He needs to improve his mid-long range shot (to be more like Love).

Although I will disagree about the passing thing.  Sullinger was our best passer this year.  Sometimes he forced it too much because he had to carry the team, but in the NBA he can dish more.  He may not yet be as good as Love, but I don't think that part of his game is out of reach.

Kevin Love has at least 3 inches on Sullinger. The NBA is more physical than college esp in the playoffs. The game speed is much faster. I think he can def help an NBA team but a star I dont see that happening. He needs to leave now before his stock plummets. He reminds me of a poor mans hansbrough with not as much height.

Love plays a very similar game to Sully they have the same body type, also Love played with better talent at UCLA (Russell Westbrook and Darren Collison) then Sully. Love took some time to develop didn't average 20 points until his thrid season. Love is 6'10 and Sully is 6'9 I know I went to Grove City High School but thats only a inch difference.

It's good to be home.
