From what I have heard it has to do with matchups within the league. Head to Head, then against the other teams in the league in order of their finish in league play. Overall record is not factored in.
Not sure if thats correct, but it makes sense. MSU beat Wisky twice.
Since they're all 2-2 against each other it comes down to record against the 4th place team: Wisky. Mich St 2-0, ttun 1-0, OSU 1-1
Three way tie the rule is record vs 4th place team (Wisconsin this year)...MSU is 2-0 vs Wisco, Michigan is 1-0 vs Wisco and OSU is 1-1 vs Wisco...there is your answer....to be honest I'd rather play Purdue than Northwestern in round 2 but that's just me
