Anybody planning on heading down to NO? A few friends and I are trying to throw something together this week, but it seems all the hotels in the city are booked. I mean ALL the hotels. Anybody have any suggestions on how to find an open room?

Same thing has happened to me. I looked for hotels today and EVERYTHING is booked. I used hotwire right after the game on Saturday and there were some available but not alot.
Where is VCU and Butler when you need them? Ohio State, UK, UL, and Kansas all travel like crazy.
I was too busy being distracted by outrageous flight prices to even look for a hotel...
Cheaper for a group to get together and rent a party bus and drive down.
Tomorrow
Try Vacation Rentals by Owner (vrbo.com) or airbnb.com for people renting rooms in their homes or homes they own. Or try Craigslist at http://neworleans.craigslist.org/vac/. I looked into this, and I know someone who used VRBO in the past and was highly complimentary.
Fortunately, I already have accomodations because I was going anyways. Had been to the FF in 1993 and 2003 in New Orleans, and the NCAA tourney there the last two years. Any excuse to go to NOLA is a good one. That the Bucks are there is icing on the cake.
Good luck.
I've used VRBO in the past and it has always been a good move. I recommend it highly.
Just saw a tweet from Lesmarises that said a $199 room on Thursday became a $999 room on Friday.

Try Slidell, it's a few miles away from New Orleans, but the rooms are cheap.
Student tickets on $25! We better fill up both student sections! See ya on bourbon street!
Wish I could, but I can't. Plus, hotels booked, gas exensive as hell and so are flights. Here's something to note though...I was in Atlanta in '07 (lost) and was in Indy this year (won 2, lost the title game). I also did not make out to AZ in for the Fiesta Bowl...so maybe I'm bad luck?? (Then again, I didn't make it out for the '06 or '07 title games either)
BTW, there's a living social deal for a lower-bowl ticket to Monday's game for $550 which comes with VIP access to food, music, etc. Unfortunately, hotel and travel not included.
Have extra tickets I won in the Season ticket holder lottery. Will sell for face value to anyone going down. I can meet you down there for the transfer. Let me know and go bucks!
I live in Hammond, about 50 mins north... I recommend looking in Metarie... it's like 15 mins our (by the airport)... you would have to get a taxi to get back and forth but it's not too bad. In the end you probbaly don;t want to be staying in the quarter itself
Cause I couldn't go for three
@Buckeye9787 - how many and what section? I may take you up on that offer.
6...had a coworker enter the season ticket holder lottery and then found out my friend got free suite tickets from his dads company (cant wait). They were 280/each and I do not know the section, but will find out tomorrow when I go in to work. They will be in will call under my name so I can pick them up for you down at the stadium. Just looking to break even and help fellow buckeyes out!
If I lived in New Orleans, was not a fan of any Final Four school, and not a fan of CBB in general, I'd totally rent out my residence to someone for a few bucks and hightail it down to Florida for a few days on the beach. The rental income would probably finance most or all of my vacation costs.
Class of 2010.
Do you have them for Saturday or Monday or both?
They are for all three games
AHHH, likely not but let me see what I can do with my schedule. I'm at 95% not going to be able to.
