I noticed last night that Buford shot 0 free throws. Thats like a crime for a scorer. There has been 6-7 games this season where he has not attempted a free throw. I wish someone would explain to him that when his jumper isn't falling (like it seems to do when we play ranked teams) that he needs to get to the hole and draw fouls and shoot free throws. When his shot isn't falling he just keeps chucking and get himself games like Saturday when he goes 2/12. He is plenty capable of getting to the basket, he is 6'6" and a pretty good athlete.
Buford has attempted just 8 more free throws than Lenzelle Smith Jr. and has shot 35 LESS free throws than Aaron Craft. Those two have figured out that since they can't hit jumpers they need to take it to the hole. Buford should follow suit when his jumper is bad. He could be a volume scorer nightly and take pressure off Sully and Thomas.

Absolutely. He has to find ways to contribute positively when his jumpers aren't falling. He needs to get involved somehow, be it from the free throw line, on defense, rebounding, or assisting, and then in turn it may help his shot start falling.
Class of 2010.
That's what good scorers should do get going from the line!
