It was evident we need Sullinger after we came up short at Kansas losing by 11. First time in 57 games the Buckes never led a game. Of course Kansas has only lost ONCE in the last 5 years at home.

Sullinger is the cup, craft is the ice cube, rest of the team is the liquid...... but Bufford is the straw that is stirring the drink.
In close games where the teams are evenly matched Bufford's outside shooting and perimiter defense is the key to how far this team will go. Duke game shows what happens when we get good Bufford... 2010 Kentucky and yesterday shows what happens when we get inconsistent Bufford.
Granted without Sullinger or Craft, we are just a top 25 team, with them we are top 5.
100% right on Buford. I said the same thing yesterday to the wife comparing his 1st half play to last years Kty tourney game. He has to play 2 good halves.
still #2 this week

With Sullinger the Buckeyes win, it's that simple. Kansas got a lot of points in the paint. Ohio State didn't have that post presence to run their offense through either. With Sullinger they get more quality looks down low, make a lot more shots, get more boards etc etc etc. Sullinger is a first team All American and probably the POY favorite at this point, anytime you lose that kind of talent especially before your first road game at a venue like Allen Fieldhouse, you are probably not going to win that game.
If anything though, this game is a good thing. Amir got some quality minutes the other guy I don't know how to spell his name got a lot of quality time too. That's going to help quite a bit in the next few months. Maybe Thad will be more willing to dip down deeper into that bench to steal some minutes.
Looks like Sully may not play again. Per Matta.....we want to win the war not the battle.
Ohio State men's basketball: Sullinger’s return likely is Saturday....

I have to say Craft was lost against Kansas, if there is pressure on him outside and the opposing bigs don't allow him to go all the way to the basket, he doesn't know how to pull up for the 6'-8' shot.
Bufford at least showed some adjustment in the second half by posting up.
When Sully is not playing, we have some serious challenges. Lets hope it is short lived! The whole complexion of the team changes. No inside back outside.
quality win against scu giving the circumstances. pre-season ranked team. obviously very talented, especially with ellington playing now.

Beat SC by 8 without Sully but seeing him on crutches is depressing. Xray showed no broken bones but may not see him for awhile
we dont need him until new years eve at bloomington. should be able to get by (an albeit very much improved) northwestern team at home without him.

They are saying it is a foot bone bruise, I dunno the time table for that, but I agree, we won't need him need him until we go to Indiana in a couple weeks.
Thank goodness it was not his back. He still could miss several games, depending on his recovery time. The game at Bloomington will be a tough one without him in the line up.
He has to stay in shape somehow. He said being off 2 weeks was a killer and outta shape. He needs to be near 100% vs Indy.
