The Oscar winning actor ("Dallas Buyers Club") is in Northeast Ohio, filming "White Boy Rick" at a home on E. 128th and Beachwood Ave. Shooting began on the Sony-produced drama directed by Yann Demange ("'71") last week and apparently is continuing this week as streets around the set remain closed to traffic.
"White Boy Rick" is based on the true story of Ricky Wershe Jr., a teenager who became an undercover informant and drug dealer in Detroit in the 1980s. McConaughey plays Ricky's father.
He's not the only Hollywood star seen in Cleveland this week.
Bruce Willis, Sophia Bush, Ashton Holmes and Stipe Miocic have been spotted around town filming the action movie, "Acts of Violence." The parking lot next to the old Cleveland central police station at E. 21st and Payne was teeming with production trailers on Tuesday, though the vehicles were gone by Wednesday.

"Acts of Violence" is about "vigilante brothers who infiltrate a human trafficking ring to extricate a loved one." Mike Epps ("The Hangover") also stars as the villain in the film being directed by Brett Donowho ("A Haunting at Silver Falls").
