You wanted me back, you got me back, along with the hottest band in the world, KISS.

Today in 1974 KISS released their eponymous debut album. While it didn't set the world on fire right away, the album would crack the top 100 and go on to reach Gold status. Peaking on the album chart at #83, the album failed to initially live up to their record label's expectations. Heavy touring and subsequent albums helped the debut become much more successful.

The debut also featured a number of songs that would be concert staples for the next 43 years and counting. Songs like "Strutter", "Firehouse", "Cold Gin", "Deuce", "100,000 Years" and "Black Diamond" would be played thousands of times in front of millions of fans.

Some ignorant wretch like Grateful might think that KISS is featured too often, but this is simply untrue. According to the archives, the TIMH has only featured KISS twice, both of which were courtesy of Whoa Nellie. There was also one Sunday Metal Shop post on the band.
