It's difficult for me to fathom it's been 36 years -- to the day -- since the coldest, and one of the most disappointing, days of my life took place.

Jan. 4, 1981... Cleveland Stadium. My 17-year-old self, my beautiful, all-heart date, and almost 78,000 others braved a game-time temperature of minus-5 and wind chills of minus-40 -- to have our hearts broken.

Red Right 88... the second of my Cleveland sports heartbreaks, following Jim Chones breaking his foot in the final minute of the final practice leading up to the Eastern Conference Finals between the Miracle of Richfield Cavaliers and Boston.

Thirty-six years later, though, I've never forgotten that frigid, fateful day, a day that left the term, "Red Right 88," a profanity forever in my heart...
