My wife and I will be having our 10th anniversary next summer and I have settled on a cruise on the Mediterranean. This is because I've never been on a cruise and my wife has never been to Europe. I have it narrowed down to Norwegian and Royal Caribbean, with stops in Spain, France, Italy and maybe a couple others.

My question(s) is/are has anyone used either of these cruise lines? Pros and cons of them? What extras are worth purchasing (drink packages, spas, excursions etc)? Any additional info is greatly appreciated.
