Saturday morning I was awakened by a call from Citi Bank. It was the fraud department calling me to verify a $2,000.00 purchase to an "entertainment company". As I was laying in bed with Mrs 3M, alibi firmly intact, I couldn't help but laugh at them.
They didn't understand what I found so funny about it, so I told the guy that of course I take fraud very seriously, particularly when it's happening to me. But, when you wake me up in bed with my wife and ask me if I'm trying to buy high priced hookers, I'm going to laugh.
So, my card was cancelled and the charges denied. Anybody else get hit up over the holidays with compromised credit card numbers? If so, hopefully you got a funny story and not a burden. Check your statement carefully.
