Anticipation has been building about a possible new coaster since late last year, when the park started clearing land near the Cedar Point Marina. Earlier this year, Cedar Point filed a trademark for the name Valravn, which is a supernatural raven in Danish folklore.

The rumors and speculation will be put to rest at 9 p.m. next Tuesday, when Cedar Point has scheduled a major announcement at the park.

Manufactured by Swiss firm Bolliger & Mabillard, a dive coaster is a type of roller coaster that features a wide train – holding as many as 10 passengers abreast – and has at least one 90-degree hill. The Cedar Point version circulating on the Internet features three inversions. There are two dive coasters in the United States – SheiKra at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Griffon at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
