Seattle Linga made a comment that got me looking up old sports photos (regarding when Ohio State stopped using only "OHIO" on sports gear - WW2 maybe?).

Ran across this photo of Jesse Owens running on an old cinder & sand track. He ran a 9.4 100 yd. time in high school. And ran a 10.2 100m in the Olympics (Youtube caption says 100-yards, but it was 100m). 

Imagine the times Owens could have posted on Urethane/Rubber composite surfaces.
