I just got word an old friend of mine died last night due to complications of alcoholism.

I haven't talked to him in a little over a year. I moved away from town about 8 years ago but back then we were very close. I've still had some contact over that time but we did drift apart a little bit. I didn't know until about a week ago that he was in such bad shape. Friend of mine filled me in on all the trouble he was having. Dr's said he had a year left at his current pace.

I texted. Called. Heard nothing back.

He was depressed.
He just gave up hope.

2am this morning he was gone.

It's been addressed here recently and with spectacular results but it bares repeating.

Please ask for help if you're suffering. Seek treatment. Do anything. Just don't give up.
