10 months ago today I woke up in my bathroom, head aching from my cousin hitting me with narcan. It was the seventh time I had overdosed. Addiction is the hardest thing I have ever experienced. I will always be an addict, but I do my best every day to stay sober, one day at a time. If it werent for all my friends, family, sponsor, and attending meetings, I would have died awhile ago. 10 months is the longest I have been sober since the first time I went to rehab at 17. I feel odd making this post, and it may seem selfish, but it feels nice to tell people (as much as I want to bring it up in conversation with folks, the stigma around this disease is very much alive). Anyways, I hope everyone is doing well, keep on keepin' on.
