Truly an inspirational human being!
...I too dream in color and in rhyme
So I guess I'm one of a kind in a full house
Cause whenever I open my heart, my soul or my mouth
A touch of God rains out...
She made such a difference.
"Success...it's what you do with what you got" - Woody Hayes
That's so sad. RIP
"Still I rise"
"faith seeking understanding” (fides quaerens intellectum)
"Listen to yourself and in that quietude you might hear the voice of God."
I won't forget the day she came to my Elementary school, I was in 5th grade in New Jersey. She did a Q & A for our senior class. She was so kind and humble. Her words were soft, yet strong. I asked her if we all could make the world a better place. She looked at me and my friends. We were all of a different race and said "You're doing just fine already, and I hope others can see the example you've set." I'll remember that forever, and will continue to do as fine as she said. RIP Maya, I hope the world will be just fine someday.
When I walked in this morning and saw the flag was at half mast I thought, "Alright, another bureaucrat ate it." but then I saw it was Li'l Sebastian. Half mast is too high. Show some damn respect.

Such a great poet and writer. Her words will live on...
"No matter what happens, or how bad today seems, life does go on,
and it will be better tomorrow...but only if you want it to be."
My late daughter's favorite quote.
"It's just another case of there you are". ~ Doc (1918-2012)
Will be truly missed by many - including those that never met her in person.
