The Buckeye Battle Cry published a write up this morning about Script Ohio: A Tradition of Excellence, the newest edition of the complete history of The Ohio State University Marching Band as published by the Eta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi at The Ohio State University. The book will be the newest edition since the 125 year anniversary edition that was published after the 2002 football season.
Script Ohio chronicles the history of TBDBITL from its early beginnings as a twelve piece fife and drum corps, to its evolution into the largest all brass band in the world, all the way up through its first year under the direction of Jon Waters. Not only is the book chalk full of the history and traditions of the band, but it also contains hundreds of beautiful photos that you can get no where else.
The book is retail for $60 (+$10) shipping and all proceeds that Kappa Kappa Psi makes goes directly into helping the Ohio State University Marching and Athletic Bands. Some projects that Kappa Kappa Psi has recently undertaken for the band have been installing a new security system into the band's practice facility, aiding in renovating and upkeeping the band's practice facility, and hosting an annual formal dance for members of TBDBITL. This season, Kappa Kappa Psi has been in talks with Eleven Warriors and will be sending pep bands of varsity band members to Eat Too and Drink Too Brutus.
