As we all know, President Gordon Gee's last day as President is Monday. This is a big change for Ohio State. It is also a big change for the Big Ten Conference. On a national level, Ohio State is the flagship institution in the conference in several aspects. Gordon Gee is also an individual who drew national attention.
Including Ohio State, the top three flagship schools in the conference include, arguably, Michigan and Penn State. Both schools will have new Presidents this time next year too. Mary Sue Coleman is leaving Michigan next year. She previously was at Iowa. Rodney Erickson, who took over for Graham Spanier after the Sandusky mess became public, is also leaving next year.
This is happening at the "Big 3" in the Big 10. What are your thoughts? Do you see this having an impact on the conference?
