No other decade did cheesy like the 80's. I've had this song from the movie Rad in my head lately. Am I the only one who loves these ridiculously cheesy soundtrack songs?

Fail. Screw you guys, I'm gonna go throw on the Rocky 4 soundtrack and run through 2 feet of snow with a log on my back. Dragooooooooooo!!!
Completely agree with you! If the Training Montage and War/Fanfare from Rocky IV don't move you, check your pulse. I have the Rocky IV soundtrack on my iPod and have organized the songs into a playlist in cinematic order (including Eye of the Tiger, which was played at the beginning of IV as a recap of III) and I listen to it when I run. How's THAT for cheese?? The '80s soundtracks are GREAT!
HAHA THANK YOU!!!
Your assertion about the 80's is flawed. At worst, the cheese-quotient was proportional, considering the volume of media and tempered by the fact, this was the first full decade of consumer-based, video recorders. Having the opportunity to rewind and re-watch cheese, was a game-changer.
Looking back, I'd say these cheese-levels, were greater: 1.) the 70's, 2.) the early 60's and 3.) most of the 1950's.
In terms of popular culture - particularly, music - the 80's was the last original decade.
Bill Paxton was the perfect "a-hole big brother that you loathe growing up" in that movie.
"Sherman ran an option play right through the south" - Greatest.Civil.War.Analogy.Ever

The world is full of kings & queens who'll blind your eyes & steal your dreams - it's heaven & hell - Ronnie James Dio.

Anybody with a haircut like that...you know he's an a**hole.
Once I get to 100 stickers, I'm coming back and up voting this haha

"Do you realize its upvoting in my room goddamnit?!"
"Success - it's what you do with what you got" - Woody Hayes
Saw Top Gun in IMax 3D a couple weeks ago, then immediately went to iTunes and downloaded the soundtrack.
There is nothing cheesy about Highway to the Danger Zone!!!!!!
Whoa 3D? Hell no there's not! Loggins for life!
Taking nothing away from Rocky IV (I vill break you!), its hard to beat the theme/soundtrack from the original Rocky.
Rad is one of my favorite 80's movies of all time. The combination of ridiculous plot, horrible acting, and hilarious unintentional comedy along with an unforgettable soundtrack, makes it one of a kind.
Ass sliding. Ha.
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."
Seriously man. Send Me An Angel!

Vision Quest, which of course has Lunatic Fringe in it.
Help is on the way.
not just Lunatic Fringe.....also Journey with "Only the Young" and Dio's "Hungry for Heaven"....fabulous cheesy movie....
LOVE "Vision Quest", wrestling doesn't get the love other sports do (see IOC's recent decision), so to see it featured in a cinematic release was pretty satisfying. And yeah, "Only the Young" is great.
RAD is an awesome 80's movie. Lori Loughlin was stellar in that movie.
I provide to you another great 80's movie song. From "Movie Of The Year" award winner Karate Kid, (inside my head, this was the best movie of the year back then...so it won my "Move Of The Year" award).
Here is "You're The Best", by Joe Esposito:
Damn, beat me to it!
This song is definitely in the 80's inspirational HOF
I can't believe she'd leave Cru Jones for Uncle Jessie.
p.s.: probably the best song from the movie RAD:
Wow I just had a flashback to my buddies living room playing with GI Joes with Rad in the background. When I grew up I was going to conquer helltrack. Thanks for the reminder it has been added to my bucket list.

You're the best...A-RO-UND! NOTHIN'S GONNA EVER KEEP YOU DOWN!
And, this one from Teen Wolf gets me pretty psyched when work has me down.
Caught the original "The Karate Kid" a couple weeks back on G4. The movie was almost over, but I finished it, and was rewarded with that sequence with "You're the Best"! Can't think of another song that more people know that never got a lot of radio airplay.
I hate it when I see Karate Kid in the guide and I select it only to realize it's the new one with Jaden Smith. It fools me every time.
Another one that gets me is Conan. I think I'm about to see an epic Arnold battle seen... then it's just that ginger Conan O'brien.
Yep no one looks like they've never done karate in there life like Ralph Machieo.
Incidentally one of my friends bought me a cobra Kai tee shirt that says " I kicked Daniel LaRusso's ass back in 84."

Now stuck in my head for the next 3 days.
This thread is great, would love to see OSU incorporate some of these into the pregame routines.
Just kidding...sort of.

Yes!!! My second grade self just got chills. After this movie the cartoon series went down hill. I remember them interjecting this song into a regular episode and thinking they are running out of ideas. Sorry I just went full on fan boy nerd but its transformers I can help myself.

Can't imbed a Youtube vid at work, but there are few 80's movies more inspirational than Over the Top.
Not only is our hero Lincoln Hawk fighting to win the love of his son, but also his financial future and most importantly the title of most badass arm wrestling truck driver on the planet.
Add that the theme song completes the Loggins trifecta (Caddyshack, Top Gun, Over the Top) and 80's inspirational history is made.

I read the title of the article and thought this was going to be about fancy, aged cheeses from Wiscansin.
Never mind.
