I'm looking for a barber shop that offers a good straight razor shave. My dad took me a couple times in college to get one, but the place we went has since closed. Any one know of a place near the campus / downtown area?
Thanks for the help.

I don't have any advice, but I sure hope someone else here does, 'cause I'd love to find one myself.
Buy a straight razor and gauze and a styptic pencil and in a few months you won't need a barber.*
*This is my guess. I use a Merkur safety razor but haven't gone full-on straight razor yet.
Taquitos.
A place near Polaris offers it. I read it in the Dispatch a while back.....actually ill look for the link

A tiny place near my work downtown (John Henry Barber Shop, at 57 E. Gay Street), certainly has the appearance of a place that would offer a straight razor shave. I can honestly say that if he doesn't do it, then I don't know who would. It's a little 1-seater, throwback barbershop.
The Old Familiar Barber Shop in Old Town East, they charge $20 and from my understanding they do a great job.
I've never been there, but a friend of mine highly recommended it. I've used a safety razor during the week and occasionally use my own straight razor when I have more time for about a year and a half, and find it to be a really enjoyable hobby. My friend also shaves this way and I trust his review of the place.
If you enjoy it you should consider buying a blade, brush, and some quality shaving soaps! You won't regret it!

Most of the time I just dry shave..
There is one on the corner of Northridge Rd. and Indianola. It is a few blocks past North Broadway. It is a Barber Shop but I don't know the name. It is North of North Broadway on Indianola and they do offer that service.
Tecks Barber Shop at 13th and High on Campus. I'm 32 and Ive gotten my hair cut at other shops twice in my life.
can anyone tell me why? just wonder, never had one.
There is a place called Razzledazzle in Miami. Great place. All female staff. The concept is that it is the 40s in there. You can drink bourbon and get a straight razor shave while watching sports.

He's probably too expensive these anyways....I mean, I'm sure the agent wants a piece etc etc... ;)

Back home in Cincy I had my barber do it once, it was amazing! I shave my head too and he did my head, it was baby's bottom smooth!

Buckeye Barber Shop n Mechanicsburg. If you haven't had a straight shave, you need to! Got my No Shave November scruff done and it was a great experience.
I'm looking for a place that shaves backs. With or without a straight razor. Makes no difference.
