I know it's time for the sprint finish for '13 recruiting, but for those fellow outdoor sports enthusiasts I had to embed this video of Urban's daughter, Gigi (the one who goes to FL Gulf Coast Univ) wakeboarding at the Meyer's lake house. She is dang good! I think the guy in the video is a world class wakeboarder, but Gigi holds her own!

I had an old high school friend who was a professional wake boarder in high school. I actually had the opportunity to help him design his first signature wakeboard with CWB. At some point I believe he had even gotten up to 3rd in the world...it may have been after this win (scroll down to the bottom of the page for the G-Shock Pro Vans Tripple Crown Event). One of the nicest guys in the world but man did that stuff wear on him. He eventually stopped around 2005-2006 (I could be wrong, but I believe it was around then) due to a plethora of injuries. The sport is fun to watch but man is brutal on those who participate.
Dude, wake boarding is so fun but its really tough!!!! If I knew how to up load my GoPro vids onto this website I'd post one of me wake boarding on the Ohio River last summer. If I make it over the wake of the boat, I'm feeling pretty good. I don't understand all the flips and everything.....don't get me wrong, I'd love to be able to do it.
The only thing that would make my video fun to watch is I was cruising along minding my own business and I got brave and went over the wake, got a little more brave and came back across the wake.....then I got cocky and tried to jump the wake. The front of my board caught and I face planted so freakin hard and fast into the water I didn't even realize what had happened. I was launched right out of the boots attached to the wake board, my go pro camera went flying! I remember laying there face down in the water wondering if I had actually died. My neck was super stiff and my hands felt broken. Haha! I felt like I had been that running back from Auburn that got trucked by Zach Dumas.

Totally. I love wakeboarding even though I'm not that great either.
You have to be careful about doing too much before you know what you're doing (if that makes sense). I had a camp counselor who was teaching us some sweet tricks one summer long ago and she ended up trying to showboat a little bit I think and had to be transported to the hospital after hurting her neck pretty bad. I think she ended up being fine in the end.
Snowboarding is even more fun, IMO. But totally different skillset, of course.
I want to go.
