My twitter feed just said that Maryland fans stormed the court for beating # 14 NC State??!?!??! How sad is that?
Can we revoke their pass to the B1G?

We'd have to kick purdue out too then
When did that happen at Purdue?
they stormed the football field for beating the unranked buckeyes
so did michigan...
I can understand why TTUN did though. Since they had not won since Braylon Edwards was playing and he has been on what four NFL teams now?
Oh yeah I blocked that from memory.
Would we have to point to anything specific Purdue did to consider giving them the boot?
Rick Reilly (who I think is a douche) did a story on proper court-storming etiquette a while back. Beating the #14 ranked team definitely did not make the cut. Have some pride maryland... you guys won a title not too long ago.
They haven't been relevant in a long time in anything. I think they get a pass on this one and really, not a bad team. That Len kid is awesome
Indiana fans rushed the court after beating #24 ranked Illinois a couple years ago... that was a sad day for a proud basketball program
They rushed the court because they won the game with .9 seconds left on a putback. It was an intense game against a team that just beat Duke
Buckeye till I'm dead
I get what you're saying, but let's not pretend like Ohio State is head and shoulders above this. I realize there were some extenuating circumstances surrounding the football team last year, but our fans rushed the field after beating 15th ranked Wisconsin in The 'Shoe.

This. i was there and couldnt believe it, now if wiscy hadnt been beat on a hail sparty thats a diff story
M TOTS,
I was at the 2011 Wisconsin game. It was the nations #15 team (wiscy). However, the atmosphere was incredible and the way the game was won. Wisc was a one loss team coming into the game, and was top to bottom the better team the entire game. But that game also put ohio state in the drivers seat to win the leaders division if you could recall.. and all ohio state had to do was win out to get a shot at the conf title game, obviously we know how that ended up -__- . But when brax threw that TD pass to Smith with seconds left people were falling over each other in the stands, it was electric and I had experience nothing like it.. ever.
Buzzer beaters= deserving of rushing the court in my opinion.. as long as you didn't beat Nebraska last second.. o_0
I was there as well and I agree with you, it was a fantastic atmosphere and a heck of an ending to a game with so many ups and downs/ emotion swings in the 2nd half. I didn't see the NC State- Maryland game or even the highlights, but as it was pointed out above Maryland made a last second shot to win it. I don't really have a problem with what the fans did there, especially since NC State knocked off the #1 team in the country just a few days ago. I just thought it was worth pointing out how quick some people here were to scoff at MD fans over this when we did something similar just a year ago.
Again, the situations are different in that our program had been dealing with plenty of scrutiny and controversy throughout the offseason and that win was something we could finally be proud of again and enjoy together. I should also mention that I do recall quite a few 11W commenters who did not agree with the fans rushing the field after the Wiscy game, so it would not be fair for me to suggest that everyone here was ok with what some fans in attendance decided to do.
i can agree with that line of thinking for sure but i PERSONALLY think court rushing and field rushing should be reserved for wins over a top 5 team OR if your team wins the game that takes you to the national title
We stormed the field after beating Iowa (OT exception?) and an average Illinois team in hoops turner's junior year.
It was for the BigTen championship, and a trip to the Rose Bowl. That's a little different.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
If its any consolation, I live in the DC area and the local sports station morning show is all from Maryland. They all have been saying the Maryland student body is embarrassing in how it handles things like this.
