This is where I draw the line. Yes we won but no need to post what they type and make fun of their lost. Let them handle their loss by expressing their frustrations on their boards. Its ok to Lurke to and see things from a different point of view but please spare their opinions being posted on this board. After all they do read what we post here. Making fun of scUM fans is part of our duties as an OSU fan. They would be doing th exact same thing to us. It's a great part of the rivalry.
While schadenfreude at the expense of UM is enjoyable, I think this thread would be below the normal standards of 11W. Lurk, revel, but let's not be those fans.

Apologies, I saw lots of people posting Mgoblog things scattered through other forums so I was simply trying to consolidate. I'm happy to get rid of the thread if it's warranted per the people
First off, Mgo doesn't use stupid nicknames and bloggers are shunned for names like O$U or $EC or Urban Liar. They simply call us Ohio, which is not at all an insult. I know a lot of people hate that but frankly I don't get why they call us Ohio and why we would be upset by that. They are always 4-5 posts per day about Michigan, which is great until it starts to be a pety name calling game. Yes we won a hard faught battle in round ball. Yes, we stole a commit from their pipleline. All of which are great things, but let's celebrate it and not act like children.
Ohio are the bobcats, Ohio State are the buckeyes. What if everyone called you 4buck

In that same regard, we have fans call them scUM, TTUN, TSUN, etc. None of those bother me and it's been more of a "we're not going to call them what they really are" kind of thing that they have now seemingly adapted as well. Both fan bases can see it as disrespectful, but it's really not and it's part of the rivalry. It just adds fuel to an already large fire in the rivalry and I'm always for that.
So when this website was objectifying a woman (katherine webb) it was ok. But, THIS is the line...having a little fun at your bitter rivals expense...
It is a close call. I chose my avatar to set an example of the golden era when there was mutual respect. In 1973 our OSU players noticed the go blue banner was dirty, askew and maybe unsafe. They came out on the field first and with care adjusted and cleaned the banner so the beloved rivals could race through with pride and safty. This newfound angst is concerning.

One other note I should have made is that all wars have rules (Geneva Convention) and some decorum is required.
It is not fitting to be rude to MI fans at Ohio Stadium - especially families with kids. Vandalism - never. No red paint on cars with Michigan plates. I hate it when on other boards (Texas Longhorns as an example) tell stories of misbehavior (usually youg drunk males).
The vast majority of fans are great and in the end it is only sport. Passionate is fine but keep it good natured as with the interaction of M fans on this board. Often ends with an agreement to disagree...

I think this thread speaks more to the type of fans we want to be, and this is a fan site, so I felt it appropriate to comment. Katherine Webb forums are reflective of the type of man you want to be. That's not my business.

Whoever said "wait till they lose 3-4 games next year" in reference to the Damon Webb commitment def made me "lol" because of the absurdity of that comment!
They seem to think we are in the same situation as them the last two years. Great season then back to mediocrity.
I went over there and read some comments.only a couple were about bad refs but a lot gave credit to craft and mich not showing up to the game. They still refer to us as Ohio though
On another thread someone said they should call us Daddy instead of Ohio. They could also try Sir, my Lord or master.

Yeah, that's a dumb thing to say. I'm going to say 3 things about the Damon Webb commitment.
1) He's a big-time talent, and that's a huge get.
2) NSD 2014 is more than a year away. I don't bank on people flipping (and I have no opinion on whether Webb will flip), but a lot can happen between now and then.
3) Webb could very well turn out to be the same deal as Dymonte Thomas - committed to the rival of who was expected, speculation about flipping up until his enrollment. Before you rip on Michigan fans for hoping he'll flip, I'd check some of the old 11W threads about Dymonte.

OSU/Michig*n resumes Feb. 05, which is also National Letter of Intent Day for football's 2013 class. Hopefully the results of both these events will allow another trip down MGoBlog belly-aching lane...... not vice versa.
I found my trip to mgoblog very entertaining for 2 reasons:
1. All of the whining and complaining, its the worst day ever and they hate their lives talk
2. They are all getting mad at each other, arguing, and saying irrational things.
