The Browns are 2-6. Weeden in his first year has a 55% completion percentage and 9TD's and 11int's. He appears better than Colt McCoy, but consistently leads Cleveland to Field Goals instead of TD's and routinely missed wide open recievers while completing balls to defensive backs. Will Weeden be the Browns Starting QB in 2 more years?

Yes. Cleveland leads the league in drops. Weeden is 2nd in passing yards amongst all rookies. He isn't playing a great game against the Ravens right now, but I say he's the QB for the next 5-7 years.
get the ball back, with a chance to take the lead, late in the 3rd quarter and you have back-to-back false starts and thena time-out. Why do I watch these Clowns?
his defense has been ridiculous after the 1st quarter, you have to like that
I've been defending Shurmur for most of the year, but he has to go after this season.
William, I agree. That said, this game isn't pretty, but Weeden is showing flashes, Richardson has fought for over 100 yards, and the defense has never looked so inspired.
while the Browns may win more games than I thought, Weedon is nothing spectacular to write home about, and will likely be gone in 2-3 years (just in time to file for Social Security)
Will the Browns get the win today? It would be so nice, but I'm sooo sure the will find a way to f-this up.
>weeden is nothing to write home about
>2nd amongst all rookies in passing yards
>has no fucking clue what they're talking about
The defense has played well since Haden's return, but they're a CB, FS, and OLB away from being a juggernaut. The offense needs some OGs, and a WR.
weeden is okay for now. looking forward to the new owner making changes, hopefully the head coach is gone and he acquires a qb that will be around for 12 to 15 years instead of an old man who may be around 5 yrs at best.
I'd argue that a better edge rushe slightly better pass rush would make the whole D look better
is this guy going to lead the Browns to a last minute come from behind, win vs the Ravens?
highly unlikely he will.
Defenses are scary
lmao buck
The Browns/Weeden Train has.....
(Sigh)
11 points given up with 7 minutes to go, on their own field, how sad. house cleaning time for sure.
House cleaning? I don't think so. A DC whose team gives up less than 50 yards in two combined quarters doesn't need to go
Weeden is no different than any one of his like 25 predecessors since 1999.
Class of 2010.
The Browns will have a new Head Coach in 2013, due to a new Owner and GM, so House Cleaning is inevitable.
if not a housecleaning, definitely some changes are in order, unless of course winning 4 to 6 games a year is acceptable, imo that sucks, and it has sucked how many years now? giving up 11 points in the last 7 minutes of a game on your home field, i find it unacceptable. inept defense, virtually no offense. this isnt peewee football, fer god sakes.
at johnblair: i totally agree.
I don't see why they are always relying on Weedon, even on 3rd and 1. Richardson seems to be running really well. Why Shurmur and company *refuse* to run the ball on 3rd and 1 boggles my mind.
Real fans stay for Carmen.
Weeden will stay, Gordan has show flashes of greatness, and Little cannot hang onto the ball. This team will be better now that Phil Taylor is back.
What we do know is that Richardson is a beast.
~Because we couldn't go for three~
Weeden will do well by playing this year right away. I think if the Browns can put at least 1 more playmaker (wr that can catch) on offense he will be good. Maybe wishful thinking on my part but he shows signs of being a great passer. I really like his down field passing. I think the real problem is in the play calling from the coaching staff. As said many times 3rd and 2 and we throw deep or 3rd and 7 and WR's run 3 yd outs. Man o Man drives us Browns fans nuts.
If he is going to be the Browns QB for the next 2yrs or more I hope he comes up with a new look because the ones in the pics above look scary.... lol
O H I O is the Buckeye State
Weeden and Richardson are being held back by god-awful play calling from Childress and shurmur. They both need to go.
/Duff'd It
I agree @Menexenus seems like the weight of every 3rd and 1 is on Weeden's shoulders when the running game is the strength of the offense right now.
