Now, I know almost every single one of you guys may not know him, but I just need to get this off my chest somehow, sorry.
Tim McNerney, a Senior football player at my alma mater of Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, PA, was murdered early this morning, Oct 4. He was walking back to his dowm, late Oct3rd/early Oct 4th with a friend and was apparantly approached by someone/a group who was carrying gun. His friend, who I do not know yet, escaped, but Tim did not escape and was beaten to an inch of his life in the parking lot of an auto store just off campus. Somebody found him unresponsive in the parking lot and he was rushed to the emergency room, where he was pronounced dead at 4:42 a.m ue to blunt force trauma to the head.
I found out this morning at work, and I had to take an hour walk in Downtown Pittsburgh because i went to tell my boss and I started crying in his office. I am tearing up now writing this because i played with the kid for 2 years. Granted, he was a running back, and I tried to hit him good anytime I could, because it was my job as a defensive end, but he was my brother, as all you know who play on sports teams. Tim was an awesome man. Yea, we were two years apart, but football tams are a brotherhood. He ran so damn hard man. He was undersized, but that did not scare him. He would put his helmet down and run you the hell over, and then switch it up and burn you outside. I love him man, and to think that he was lying there, in a parking lot after some thugs beat his to death is something I can;t cope with right now. It is disgusting.
He was a senior. His senior season was taken from him. His last game under the lights, his senior day, all taken from him. His diploma, his career, his day of recognition when he walks across the stage, all taken from him. Most of all, his life wa taken from him.
For those of you who pray, please keep Tim McNerney and his family in your prayers. Cherish what you have now. For those that do not pray, please just think about him, even for just one second.
RIP #5, I love you buddy. Washington and Jefferson Presidents for life! You are what everyone should strive to be.
again, sorry, but I needed to unload some thoughts and talk about it. Love those in your life man. RIP #5!

sorry man. I'll send one up for ya.
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
My sincere condolences. Honor his memory, live right, it's all you can do right now. I lost my best friend 7 years ago to a violent, senses act. It is hard, so hard. Just grieve as befits his memory, strong men do, and should shed tears for their fallen brothers. I imagine your boss understands if he's a decent sort. If you're tight at all with the family let them know you care, any little gesture. You keep Tim in your heart and he'll be there, you'll see.
Man, is somebody chopping onions in here? Fuuuu......

Hate to hear that Dub. Hopefully the degenerates that did it are caught and never walk free again.
So sorry to hear about that. Terrible. I can't even imagine. RIP Tim.
Class of 2010.
I am so terribly sorry-what a colossal, colossal waste. You and all who were Tim's friends and loved ones are in my prayers tonight. Sigh.
I am truly sorry for your loss..my prayers are with you.
I too went to Washington and Jefferson and can speak for DubJay when I say that once a President always a President. Going to a small school gives you the benefit of developing relationships that otherwise you might not get at a large school. I am with you Rick praying for Tim and everyone at W&J.
Sorry to hear this Dub. You are one of my favorite poster's on here. Praying for you all as you go through this tough time. Something's in this world cannot be explained, so thank God this place is temporary.
How Firm Thy Friendship....
Chin up brother. There is no understanding the outright stupid shit some of the World's dumb f*ckers do. Friends and Family bare the grief of the loss. I'm sure that all on 11warriors wish we could do more to help you out, than type words, but know that we'll hope for his friends and family.
You'll never forget the loss of a friend, or how it all went down. Honor him by never forgetting what made him a friend to you in the first place.
Cheers, mate. So sorry to hear this, things like this are so god damned senseless. Keep your brother alive in your heart, he'll live forever there.
I'm sorry, man, that's horrible -- my prayers are with you, Tim and his family...

Dubjay...excellent euology you just wrote there. I'm seriously tearing up. Prayers for sure. God bless.
Also, quit apologizing. You're a great poster on here, and this just confirms you're a solid dude.
Terrible and disgusting. I will say a prayer.
vacuuming sucks
My condolences. Sorry for your loss.
Dubjay -- that's terrible man, so sorry to hear of that.
I've actually heard of Tim before. I live about 15 minutes from where he played his high school ball - at Knoch - & he was a great player there.
Keep you in my prayers and the rest of the W & J family, the Knoch family & Tim's friends & family.

I went to Mount Union (a number of years ago) and still go to many of the annual scrimmages with W&J. With Mike Sirianni coaching there, we've had a great relationship between the schools. I am so sorry to hear about Tim. My thoughts and prayers go out his friends and family as well as the entire W&J community.

Horrible. I do pray, and I will put him, you, and his family in my prayers. I am sorry for your loss.
That type of thing shakes you to your core. Explanations and reasons why are unavailable. As hard as we try to understand it, we can't. We feel for you Dubjay and prayers are with you and the families. Peace.
So sorry to hear. May he rest in peace and the guilty be punished extensively.
Tough times never last, tough people do
This is certainly a senseless tragedy, Dubjay. Sorry for the needless loss of your friend and teammate. My prayers go out to Tim's family and loved ones.

Terrible loss, so sorry to hear about this. Senseless crimes that we'll never understand. No family or friend should ever have to feel that pain. The family and friends are definitely in my prayers.
